Begin Again

May is “Global Employee Health & Fitness Month” and if by chance, you have fallen short of your annual resolutions, fear not! Now is a good time to begin again. They say it takes 30 days for a new practice to become a habit, so over the next month I encourage you to commit to your health and wellness. I challenge you to put yourself first for real this time. No excuses!

You already have a plan because you’ve made it countless times before. In your head you have mapped out the “who, what when, where, why, and how” of childcare, pet care, meal prep, homework, housework, schoolwork. You have calculated how many carbs you can and cannot eat before ketosis sets in and you have marveled at the sight of the new you in your mind’s eye many, many, many times before. The truth is, you already know how to do this but because you are human, and may have slipped up in the past, you are afraid you can’t or won’t be successful now.

Oh, dear child, get a routine and make it exciting! And if for some reason your new routine does not work for you, nix it and get another one. The point being you have more tenacity than you give yourself credit for. So what if you are not 20lbs, 10lbs, 2lbs lighter, than you promised yourself you would be by now? And who cares if you have yet to master a proper squat, lunge (I hate those by the way), or plank? Look up from where you are and decide that today is the day for new beginnings. Remember this one truth from Tasha’s “Guide to Undeniable & Lasting Happiness”- failure happens when you do not try, not because you have to repeat! Don’t worry, you got this. 😉
